The (Day Late) Week in Review

January 18, 2010

Last week, like most of the other 52 we experience yearly, was completely forgettable. I got out of bed every morning, I went to work when I was supposed to, I went to school when I was supposed to, and I spent time with my friends when I was supposed to. I guess having a routine is good, but that doesn’t mean it’s not boring.

For those of you that follow my Twitter feed, you know (pretty well) by now that the man who presides over my Business Ethics class on Thursday’s – from this point forward I refuse to refer to him as a “professor” – is a complete moron. Well, maybe thats a little harsh, he must know something he is “teaching” after all, but the man is pretty clueless.

Aside from all of the corny jokes that seem to be a prerequisite for obtaining a job as an instructor of college students, he just doesn’t seem to grasp that we’re not all complete idiots.

For example: Last week in class he passed out three handouts and a new syllabus, and then assigned some homework and junk. All of which he printed out and passed around, and all of which is readily available to us on the school’s intraweb.

However, by the time I woke up on Sunday I had eight (8) new emails from this educator extraordinaire containing, as attachments mind you, everything he had passed out in class that week.

Then, as a bonus, an email outlining in detail how to 1) click on a link, 2) watch a video online, and 3) write down the address of the video and then type it into the browser. I couldn’t make this up if I tried.

Disclaimer: I realize that not everyone in the world, yet alone in this class, is a compu-wiz. But if a person can open an email chances are pretty high that they can click a link. Just sayin’.

And then there was this, possibly the highlight of the night.

So yeah, school is going good. I’m not even going to talk about the powerful minds on my Critical Thinking for College Students team. They’re an eclectic bunch, I’ll just leave it at that for now.

Other than that, and the hilarity that ensued at The Crest on Saturday night, it was a pretty uneventful week. I got to see some out of town relatives, spent a lot of time perfecting my new job, and worked to rebuild bridges that had fallen into disrepair. All of these things shall come to light as they become relevant.

Oh, and also The Crew drafted some new guys.
