Soccer Soothsayer

July 29, 2009

I was invited to be the “Guest Prognosticator” on another MLS blog this week. Basically I make some predictions about the upcoming games, the proprietor of said blog makes his own prediction, and whoever gets the most right wins bragging rights.

Here’s how I picked:

“Ok Matt, here we go (I’m totally winging this btw):

TFC at NE: Toronto 2-2 New England
DCU at HOU (ESPN GOTW): DC 1-3 Houston
KCW at FCD: 1-1
RSL at Fire: Salt Lake 0-2 Chicago
Crew at Rapids: Columbus 3-2 Colorado
Sounders at Quakes: Seattle 3-1 San Jose

I really think this is the week that the top of the table starts to pull away and the playoff teams solidify their spots. Except DC, injuries are going to really hurt them. Chicago sans McBride is going to prove they can still win, and Seattle, well, Sir Sigmund is gonna keep kicking ass up there.

I’m going to go out on a limb and say that any goals in the KC/FCD Fail Cup will be own goals.

So there you have it. My first ever MLS score predictions. Don’t laugh when I get nada right. But don’t get angry when I nail all of them.”

Look at me, making friends out in the blogosphere.
